Defender set to leave

Dundee United defender Gavin Gunning has confirmed he has almost certainly played his final game for the club.

The Irish centre-back has been linked with several teams south of the border, with the latest being Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, having already interested Rangers.

"This is probably going to be my last game for the club. I have spoken to the manager," Gunning told the Dundee Courier. "You never know what is around the corner. I will have to speak to my family about it and then we will go from there."

He added: "It is tough to say goodbye and this is not the way I would have liked to finish, but what can you do?"
