'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No worries over defender

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is certain new signing Gavin Gunning will be successful following his arrival from Dundee United.

The 23-year-old centre-back joined the English Championship side this week despite earlier failing a medical with Sheffield Wednesday.

"We've given him a thorough medical, as we do all players," Clark said in the Dundee Courier. "My medical team, who are very good, have completed a full medical on him and we're happy with the outcome.

"Gavin is a left-footed centre-half and there are not many of those around. He gives us good balance," he added. "This one has taken a little bit of time to get over the line because there have been other Championship clubs interested him but he's chosen us and we're delighted."
