Dons first up

Dundee United start their league season with an away trip to Aberdeen.

The Tangerines visit Pittordie on Saturday 9th August and follow it with a midweek home clash against Motherwell.

Jackie McNamara's side then face an early test at champions Celtic three days later.

Opening day games are: Aberdeen v Dundee United; Dundee v Kilmarnock; Hamilton Academical v Inverness Caledonian Thistle; Motherwell v St Mirren; Ross County v St Johnstone

The Tangerines were forced into an early change after recent arrival Paul Quinn departed the action with a head knock.

Fellow centre-back Mark Durnan then headed over a Paul McMullan corner while Fraser Fyvie's volley from the edge of the area glanced an upright.

However, Craig Sibbald's header also tested the woodwork at the other end and Scott McDonald's diving reply was too high
