Gauld completes move

Highly-rated teenager Ryan Gauld has completed his move from Dundee United to Sporting Lisbon.

The eighteen-year-old midfielder is believed to have agreed a six-year deal with the Portuguese giants - and with a 60m Euros sell-on value being inserted into his contract.

After the principles of the transfer were agreed late on Monday, Scottish Under-21 international Gauld flew out alongside his agent John Colquhoun for talks the following day. These were successful and a late night medical was then completed.

"Subject to the usual formalities, Dundee United confirm the transfer of Ryan Gauld to Sporting Lisbon, for an undisclosed fee, was completed last night," United announced on their official website. "Everyone at the Club wishes Ryan sincere best wishes in his future career."
