Tangerines bid rejected

Tangerines bid rejected

Dundee United have seen a bid rejected for Mansfield Town defender Ryan Tafazolli.

The former Southampton trainee arrived at Field Mill two years ago but missed most of the Stags' Conference Premier winning season due to injury.

However, the 22-year-old centre-back returned to action to score twice in 24 games last season.

Manager Paul Cox has similarly turned down an approach from an unnamed League One club for free-scoring forward Sam Clucas.

"Both offers have been turned down 'flat'," he told Mansfield's official website. "I don't want to lose my best players and I'm not in the business of simply giving away players."
