No deal say United

Dundee United have rejected an offer from an unnamed club for winger Gary Mackay-Steven.

The 24-year-old is in the final year of his current deal and would be available to leave the Taysiders for free at the end of it.

However, manager Jackie McNamara has already confirmed he is not looking to cash in on one of his brightest talents.

"We had a bid for him yesterday but it was rejected," he told stv.tv. "That's as far as it is at the moment.

"I've spoken to Gary about it and said to him that I want to keep him here even though he's going to walk away for nothing next year," McNamara added. "I don't think the offer was good enough for him or for the club."
