Tangerines wait on defender
Dundee United are anxiously waiting on surgery for skipper Sean Dillon.
Dillon sustained a fractured cheekbone during the pre-season friendly defeat to Leeds United at the weekend.
The Tangerines have since been given a recovery time of up to six weeks for their Irish defender.
"We will just need to wait and see what happens with that," manager Jackie McNamara told the Dundee Courier. "We have been told six weeks out for him but we will have to see how the surgery goes. We hope it's not as long as that."
It does leave United decidedly short at the back with John Souttar [ankle], Mark Wilson [broken foot] and Keith Watson [calf] each at various stages of recovery.
Meanwhile, newcomers Jarek Fojut and Conor Townsend are concentrating on getting up to maximum fitness.
