Duo extend as midfielder arrives

Duo extend as midfielder arrives

Dundee United have extended the contracts of Paul Paton and Aidan Connolly.

Northern Ireland international Paton, 27, has agreed to stay until the summer of 2017, while Connolly, 18, remains through to at least 2016.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines have snapped up another midfielder, seventeen-year-old Scott Lochhead, following his release by Celtic.

"Scott is someone we knew about and I was delighted when he became available," manager Jackie McNamara told BBC Scotland. "It is pleasing that yet another good young Scottish prospect wants to join United and he joins in the knowledge that he will get the opportunity to develop here.

"He is a tidy player with great awareness for his age," he added. "I am delighted to sign him up."
