'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Levein's Dundee United run goes on

Craig Levein enjoyed Dundee United's 1-0 win over Kilmarnock today (Sat, Nov 11) more than the 2-1 win over Rangers last weekend.

Levein, who has now won as many league games in two matches as his predecessor Craig Brewster did in 28 games, said before the match that the Arabs' performance against Killie would be a better indication of their potential that the win over Rangers.

Noel Hunt scored the only goal of the game after 71 minutes after substitute Collin Samuel sprinted past Garry Hay and crossed the ball for the former Dunfermline-striker to volley home from 15-yards.

After the match, Levein said: 'It was on the cards last week with Rangers not doing particularly well and the 'new-manager effect'. We probably deserved the win. Any match deserves to be won with a goal like that.'

Dundee United are now 10th in the SPL, five points about basement-side Dunfermline, and are starting to play with a belief that appeared to be lacking for so long under Brewster.
