When Steven Pressley left Dundee United in search of European football, he decided that Hearts was the team that could make all his European dreams come true. At the time Arabs knew the club had lost a very important and talented player, and Pressley went on to prove his worth at both domestic and international level.
Hearts haven`t had much European success since Pressley joined, but Dundee United haven`t had much European football full-stop, but signing Steven Pressley would be a significant step to changing all that.
In recent weeks, Pressley`s run in with the Hearts Chairman has been headline news and his career at Tynecastle looks to be hanging by a thread. If Craig Levein could tempt the influential defender back to Dundee United, it would be a fantastic signing for the club and one which could drive United back up the table.
Even the Dundee United players would welcome Pressley back to the club, Noel Hunt has openly admitted he`d love to see Pressley move back to Tannadice, if only because it would mean he wouldn`t have to play against him anymore...
'Obviously the rumours have been flying about. I think everyone in Scotland knows 'Elvis' is a great player and a great leader, and he can only be good for us" said Hunt.
"Playing against him, he is a hardy defender and, for someone like Dundee United, he would be a great signing.'
'A lot of things have happened at Hearts as everyone knows. Obviously it's not positive. It is quite possible he might turn out for us in January.'
