Sean Dillon Deal Looking More Likely

It's looking even more likely that Dundee United will be signing Shelbourne's Sean Dillon, even though the Eircom club announced earlier this week that a deal had already been done.

Shelbourne announced that an undisclosed fee had been agreed and that the 23-year-old had signed on Tuesday afternoon, but Craig Levein denied that the Dublin born defender had already put pen to paper on a deal to join United.

On Wednesday, Levein said "They have jumped the gun completely. We are talking to Shelbourne but we're miles away from anything happening and I don't know if it will," Craig Levein told the Courier.

"I haven't even spoken to the player or his agent and it could be he doesn't want it."

Although, negotiations have been on-going over the last few days and the club are now close to agreeing terms with the central defender.

It is unlikely that anything will be concluded before the start of next week, but Sean Dillon could become Levein's 2nd signing of the January transfer window after Margaro Gomis completed his move on Monday morning.

"We are working at it but nothing will happen before the weekend," said Levein.

Does that mean Levein has time to talk Darren Dods into joining up, before we sign another nobody from the Eircom league?

You never know, Sean Dillon might be a talented wee player. I have faith in Craig Levein's judgement, its the men advising him Im worried about - especially if its the same people who advised Ian McCall on signings??!?!
