Levein 2nd Fav For Scotland Job

Even with the SFA refusing Rangers permission to speak to Scotland manager Walter Smith, it seems only a matter of time before Smith & assistant Ally McCoist are confirmed as the new management team at Ibrox.

That would mean the SFA would have to start the search for his replacement as Scotland boss and current Dundee United manager Craig Levein looks to be one of the favourites for the job.

Scotland coach Tommy Burns is favourite to be offered the position, but Levein would be 2nd favourite according to the bookies.

Bookies are offering odds of 11-4 on Levein, with Tommy Burns (2-1), Ally McCoist(4-1) and former Rangers boss Alex McLeish(6-1) also high up the list.

Former Dundee United manager Paul Sturrock has also been quoted a price of 33-1, but Bookies reckon there is more chance of former Scotland boss Craig Brown getting the job than Luggy.

Meanwhile, the SFA have threatened to take Rangers to court for "tapping up" Walter Smith, who still has 18 months of his contract as International manager left.

Odds as of 9th January:
2-1, Tommy Burns
11-4, Craig Levein
4-1, Ally McCoist
6-1, Alex McLeish
11-1, Archie Knox
14-1, John Collins
14-1, Jimmy Calderwood
16-1, Joe Jordan
16-1, Graeme Souness
20-1, Billy Davies
20-1, Jim Jefferies
20-1, Gary McAllister
25-1, Craig Brown
33-1, David Moyes
33-1, Paul Sturrock.

I'd rather Walter Smith didnt leave in the first place, but I dont want to lose a Scotland manager and a Dundee United manager in the same week!!!!
