Craig Levein thinks there are at least 14 players at Tannadice who no longer have a future in his Dundee United squad.
Levein was very disappointed by the way his side crumbled against Rangers in the 2nd half and was openly critical of some of his 1st team players - without naming any specific names.
"We didn't come out to negative, but we shot ourselves in the foot. Rangers were very nervous but they got the crowd behind them and we allowed their confidence to grow. The first two goals we gave away were terrible. Our best chance was for it to pour rain for another 20 minutes," said Levein after the 5-0 defeat.
"If players don't do things properly, if they won't fight and roll up their sleeves then I'll just get rid of them. I've seen 100 times the way to cheat and the way to hide, I know who they are and my job is to nip it in the bud."
"Previous managers have tried to sort this out and its taken me 12 games to pinpoint those who don't do their jobs. I can't let it go on, so watch out for changes."
When asked how many players had their heads on the chopping block, the Dundee United manager replied, "About 14 - I've made my feelings pretty clear. Anybody who wants to change my mind will need to do it quickly."
Derek Stillie, David McCracken, Garry Kenneth, Stuart Duff, Mark Kerr, Collin Samuel and Morgaro Gomis are the only players who played in both the 5-0 Rangers and the 5-1 Falkirk defeats.
Although, new signing Morgaro Gomis is unlikely to be one of the players singled out for criticism by Levein, the rest might have played their last match for Dundee United - unless Levein has seen something in their recent preformances that has changed his mind.
