Dods Still Has A Few Seasons Left

Darren Dods might be nearer the end of his playing career than the start of it, but Craig Levein believes the 31-year-old might still have a few more seasons in him.

The Caley Thistle captain agreed a pre-contractual agreement with Dundee United earlier in the week, which will see him join Tannadice on the 1st of June.

The former Hibs & St Johnstone defender has been chased by United for the last year, with former manager Craig Brewster failing in several bids to bring Dods to Tannadice during last summer.

"Darren has improved a lot over the last few years and he understands his position much better now," said Levein.

"I think defending is an undervalued art. I want defenders whose first aim is to just stop goals happening and players like that are few and far between these days.

"Darren is so fit that I can see him playing on until he's 35 or 36 no problem."
