Midfielder targets double

Midfielder targets double

Dundee United midfielder Blair Spittal has a clear double-target going towards the end of the season.

The 21-year-old recently returned to action following a foot injury keeping him out over the last couple of months.

He now wants to help his side to achieve their top-flight return while simultaneously earning himself a new deal for next season.

"My contract is up in the summer as well so I need to be playing games to prove I am worthy of a place here in the future," Spittal told the Dundee Courier. "That's what I want to do but I need to prove it to the manager.

"I would love to stay because the facilities we have here are second to none and I enjoy playing for United," he added. "So my aim between now and the end of the season is first of all to help the team get promoted and secondly to win a new deal."
