Midfielder Mark Kerr has retained his starting place in the Dundee United side, with Noel Hunt making his first start since recovering from an ankle injury that kept him out for at least 4 weeks.
Despite being told he is on his way out of Tannadice, 25-year-old David McCracken made a shock return to the starting side, with Gary Kenneth dropping to the bench - whilst Alan Archibald, who was also told to find a new club last week, was completely dropped from the team and couldn`t even find a place on the bench.
Former Dundee defender Lee Wilkie, who returned from a loan spell at Ross County at the start of the month, made his 2nd consecutive start, whilst New Zealand International trailist Che Bunch was left out of the side, despite impressing in training over the past few days.
Meanwhile, Dunfermline named at least 4 former United players in their squad, with Jim Hamilton and Stevie Crawford on from the start and Jim McIntyre and Jamie McCunnie on the bench.
United fan Stephen Glass, signed on loan by Dunfermline until the end of the season, went straight into Stephen Kennys starting eleven - alongside Phil McGuire who has just recovered from injury.
Although, influential attacker Mark Burchill was left out of the line-up, with the Pars manager not wanting want to risk the player after he recovered from injury earlier in the week.
