It's still there to win - McKinnon

Dundee United boss Ray McKinnon managed to enjoy the game despite the extreme pressure of a play-off situation.

The Tangerines twice had the advantage thanks to Simon Murray and Blair Spittal but were pegged back each time by former chief Peter Houston's Falkirk.

"I enjoyed the game. It was an interesting game," McKinnon told BBC Sport. "They've come out and given everything, they've taken the lead twice, there's a desire to win the game so I'm very pleased and the game's still sitting in the balance going into Friday.

"We can certainly go down there and win and we'll go down there with a really positive mentality and we can't wait for the game," he added. "We'd obviously have liked to have taken a win down there, an advantage. I'm sure it'll be an open game."

The winners of Friday's return face either Hamilton Academical or Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the final, depending upon whoever finishes second bottom.

But Simon Murray equalised with fourteen minutes remaining, and with extra-time appearing increasingly probable, left-back Dixon headed a dramatic second.

The Tangerines now play either Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Hamilton Academical
