Move benefits all - McKinnon

Move benefits all - McKinnon

Manager Ray McKinnon reckons the sale of teenage midfielder Ali Coote to Brentford is beneficial to both the player and his former club.

The nineteen-year-old prospect completed a switch to West London Championship outfit Brentford for an undisclosed fee earlier this week having made only three starts and sixteen substitute appearances whilst at Tannadice.

"I think it is important I have 18 players who I know, 100%, can play week in, week out," McKinnon told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. "It is a good move for Dundee United and for Ali that he can go down there into their 20s or whatever he is going into.

"His move allows me to bring in another player that can definitely play every week," he added. "I am happy for Ali and I hope he really kicks on and makes a career for himself."
