United win comfortably

Dundee United completed a 3-0 victory at Montrose in their pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening.

The visitors awarded starts to new signings Paul McMullan, Billy King and James Keatings, while also including the same number of trialists - goalkeeper Denis Mehmet, defender Paul Quinn and midfielder Jordi Brieles.

And McMullan gave them a deflected fifteenth minute lead after his initial effort was blocked before French defender William Edjenguele added a close-range second following a corner prior to the break.

That advantage was extended early in the second-half as Matty Smith headed in newcomer Keatings' cross.
