McKinnon remains patient

Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon is remaining patient while attempting to further improve his squad.

The Tangerines are currently assessing trialists Deniz Mehmet, Jordie Briels and Paul Quinn, although McKinnon definitely wants to bring in another three or four newcomers even if those are signed up.

"I still want to add another couple of strikers, a player for the middle of the park and one other," he told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. "Overall I am happy with the quality of the squad, but where we are short is on numbers and that's why I want a few more.

"But I do feel we have enough for the start of the League Cup next week, so that means I don't have to rush into anything," McKinnon added. "It's quality I'm looking for and sometimes you have to hold your nerve and wait to get that."
