Striker must kick-on

Striker must kick-on

Ray McKinnon wants to see striker Patrick N'Koyi kicking-on following his goalscoring burst against Cowdenbeath in the Irn-Bru Cup.

The Congolese-Dutchman was twice on target following the break as the hosts made progress despite a much-changed side for a competition they actually won last season.

"Patrick wants to do well but he is still rusty," McKinnon admitted to the Dundee Courier. "Nothing was working for him in the first half but it was better in the second.

"He grew into the game and hopefully those two goals should give him the confidence to kick on," he added. "He needs to build up his energy levels and fitness and then hopefully he can start playing in the first team."
