Manager rant was justified - McDonald

Manager rant was justified - McDonald

Weekend match-winner Scott McDonald felt manager Ray McKinnon was fully entitled to blast his players during the narrow victory against Brechin City.

The Tangerines remain top of the table after the experienced 33-year-old Australian marksman grabbed the only goal of the contest with just ten minutes remaining at Tannadice.

"The manager was absolutely right to have a go at us," McDonald told the Dundee Courier. "I imagine he has given us a bit of stick when speaking to you [media] guys.

"He certainly did give us a bit and he was right to do so," he conceded. "We got a kick up the you-know-what at half-time but it was rightly deserved. He expects better from all of us. He expects the tempo to be better and I think we all have to agree about that."
