We'll come back stronger - McKinnon

Manager Ray McKinnon promised Dundee United would come back stronger after their weekend disappointment at St Mirren.

The Tangerines suffered a dismal 3-0 reversal in Paisley - with their first league defeat of the season also witnessing them slipping off the top of the early Championship table and back into fourth place.

"That was very disappointing and I didn't see that performance coming," McKinnon told the Dundee Evening Telegraph. "It was very unexpected and it was a difficult one to take, definitely.

"I am not going to take any credit away from St Mirren as they deserved their victory," he added. "But we weren't at our best and it is something we need to look at and rectify quickly. We will come back stronger from this."
