Dundee United v Brechin City

Dundee United v Brechin City

Dundee United need a winning return when hosting bottom-of-the-table Brechin City at Tannadice this afternoon (kick-off 3.00pm).

A 2-0 defeat at Championship leaders St Mirren last time out leaves them still in second-place and trailing their title rivals by five points, although with still a game in hand.

Added to that the hosts have seen midfield duo Scott Fraser [fractured foot] and Fraser Fyvie [cruciate ligaments] ruled out for the rest of the season over the past few days.

However, it's hoped that fellow schemer Willo Flood will recover from the dead-leg suffered during the Paisley loss, although Stewart Murdoch may have to wait until the weekend for his comeback.

Kalvin Orsi has overcome illness for the visitors, but Paul McLean requires checking and Ryan McGeever remains a long-term casualty.

Another player definitely not involved is Ally Love, who has moved onto Clyde.
