Dunfermline Athletic v Dundee United

Dunfermline Athletic v Dundee United

Dundee United require the best possible reaction after finding their promotion challenge dramatically sidetracked in their latest fixture.

The Tangerines inexplicably crashed 6-1 at Falkirk despite taking an early lead through Billy King - and went on to concede four times after the break.

New signings Craig Slater and Brandon Mason both made debuts at the Falkirk Stadium while fellow newcomer Emil Lyng also came off the bench.

However, the visitors were hopeful that centre-back Mark Durnan would make a return to action this weekend. He missed out last time through a swollen ankle but has resumed training.

Unfortunately key midfield duo Scott Fraser [fractured foot] and Fraser Fyvie [cruciate ligaments] have already been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Dunfermline are currently seven points behind their latest opponents in third place.
