Newcomer still targets leaders

Newcomer still targets leaders

Recent signing Grant Gillespie believes Dundee United could yet overhaul Championship leaders St Mirren.

The Tangerines have recently slipped down into third place and a massive fourteen points behind the table-toppers, although with still games in hand.

This evening they travel to second-in-the-table Livingston, who already comprehensively accounted for the Paisley outfit 4-1 at the weekend.

"St Mirren dropped points against Livingston but that doesn't give us more incentive to win this game," Gillespie told The Courier. "The incentive is still there regardless of whether they won, lost or drew.

"They do have a big gap at the moment but it can close," he continued. "We have games in hand and there is a lot of football to be played. Everyone here believes we can reel them in but the way to go about that is not looking at what they`re doing."
