Dundee United supporters should expect an influx of Irish players in the summer, as manager Craig Levein attempts to strengthen his 1st team squad without spending big.
Irishmen Sean Dillon and Jon Daly arrived at Tannadice during the January transfer window, with Dillon arriving from Eircom champions Shelbourne and Jon Daly moving up from Hartlepool for an undisclosed fee.
Levein has already made several trips to Ireland, including a spying mission on Monday night, to have a look at several signing targets.
Despite not being impressed by the player he was watching at the start of the week, Levein has still admitted an interest in bringing another couple of Irish players to Tannadice, if it means getting quite-price talented footballers.
"I wasn't too impressed by the guy I went to watch on this occasion but I've got a whole list of names so I'll be back over to watch more of these Setanta Cup games in the next few weeks," admitted Levein.
"Ireland is a market I've always liked. It's true it has changed a bit over the last few years, but I still feel there is an opening to pick up a bargain.
"We did some very good business to get Sean Dillon here in January so I'll be keeping a close eye on what is happening."
