Dundee United Battle For 1-0 Win
Manager Craig Levein has praised the fitness of his side, after 10-man Dundee United battled their way to a 1-0 victory over Aberdeen.
Youngster David Robertson stole all 3 points from Jimmy Calderwood`s side, with a 90th minute strike.
Noel Hunt pounced on a poor pass-back from defender Andrew Considine, and set-up Robertson from 12-yards, to give Dundee United their 1st win of the season for 8 years.
However, Levein has put the final result down to the hard-shift his players have put in during pre-season training - training which some United players have claimed was the toughest they`ve ever experienced under any manager.
"The sprit the players showed today was fantastic," admitted Levein to the BBC.
"I would have settled for a draw a half time, but we dug in and out fitness is fantastic.
"It needed to be since we were down to 10 men for 50 minutes, which was a difficult situation, especially against the quality of Aberdeen.'
"It was our 1st opening home win in 10 years and we sent the supporters home with smiles on their faces."
