3rd Round Cup Tie Against SPL Rivals

Dundee United face a tricky trip down to East coast to take on SPL rivals Falkirk in the next round of the CIS Insurance Cup.

United beat 2nd division Ross County 2-1 at Tannadice last midweek, with a 65th minute Noel Hunt penalty and an 88th minute winner from debutant Jordan Robertson.

Now John Hughes side await Craig Levein`s side in the 3rd round of the competition, in a re-match of last weeks SPL clash which United won 2-0 at Tannadice.

Although, there are several other all-SPL clashes, including Hibernian hosting Motherwell and struggling SPL sides Caley Thistle and Gretna meeting at the Caledonian Stadium.

Meanwhile, local rivals Dundee are sure to put going out of the tournament, after being paired with SPL champions Celtic at Dens Park.

The matches will be played on Tuesday, 25th September or Wednesday, 26th September.
