Cameroon Striker Arrives In Dundee

Dundee United manager Craig Levein is considering Cameroon International Patrick Suffo as his next signing, after the 29-year-old striker arrived at Tannadice on trial.

Free-agent Suffo failed to impress during trials at Bournemouth and Crewe Alexandra during the summer, but is now hoping to earn himself a deal with Dundee United.

After being released last season by Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva, it was the strikers lack of fitness which prevented him winning a deal down south.

The former Coventry City and Sheffield United player, was part of the Cameroon side which played in the 2002 World Cup.

"I remember him playing for Coventry City when I was manager at Leicester and I know he has good ability," United manager Levein told Arabzone.

"At his age he should be reaching his best years and what we`ve done is given him the chance to come here and show that is the case."

"Over the next week or so the ball is in his court and what happens now is really up to him."

"He is a free agent and that means if he does well we could sign him up even though the transfer window is closed."
