Double Injury Blow For Dundee United
It`s lucky for Dundee United that stand-in goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski is in inspired form at the moment, because it looks like Lukasz Zaluska is out for longer than expected.
Zaluska broke a bone in his foot during a 3-0 pre-season friendly win over Airdrie, with Levein filled the void by signing up Szamotulski on a 6-month deal.
Levein was hoping to have Zaluska back after only a couple of months, but it looks like the 24-year-old`s foot isn`t healing as quickly as was hoped.
The news is also bad for Midfielder Craig Conway, who is also suffering from the same injury.
"A lot is talked about metatarsal breaks these days, but depending on exactly where the problems is it can be a minor injury or more serious," admitted Levein on ArabZone.
"Unfortunately for Lukasz and Craig, they`ve broken theirs in almost exactly the same place and it`s the more serious area."
"Lukasz is back at the specialist on Monday and he will decide whether to just give it longer to heal or operate and it looks like Craig will have to get further surgery."
"It`s frustrating for both of them because they want to play, but they are under the medical people and we will be guided by them."
