Conway Out For Another 3 Months
Dundee United have been hit by the news that talented midfielder Craig Conway will be out for at least another 3 months.
Conway broke a bone in his foot towards the end of last season, a same injury which goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska suffered during the pre-season build-up.
The 22-year-old midfielder had a pin inserted into his foot, but it hasn`t healed as well as expected and now Conway will have to undergo a bone graft operation.
"Craig's foot has never been 100 per cent and we need to sort this out properly," admitted manager Craig Levein to the Courier.
"This time he`ll be getting a bone graft as well as a pin."
At least it was better news about Polish goalkeeper Zaluska, after the specialist announced his break is healing nicely.
"The surgeon believes his break is healing and that an operation just now when there is a chance it`ll heal naturally might be the wrong thing to do."
"Whether that`s the course of action we`ll take is still under discussion but the likelihood is we`ll go with giving Lucas another four to six weeks to see if that brings about recovery without the need for an op."
