No January Sale For Barry Robson!!!

Not surprisingly, Dundee United are unhappy about the prospect of losing club captain Barry Robson during the January transfer window.

Sunday newspapers claimed the 28-year-old midfielder was just days away from agreeing a £1.25million move to Celtic, but United Chairman Eddie Thompson has dismissed the claims.

"We see Barry as part of the future of Dundee United Football Club," Thompson told the BBC.

'If any other parties wish to approach, they should know that we won't be easy to deal with and Barry Robson won't be going anywhere cheaply.'

Celtic have allegedly tabled a £1million bid for Robson and are hoping to exploit a clause in his contract which Thompson has denied even exists.

"We have a valuation of Barry, but it is a lot higher than the figures being bandied about in the media."

'People might say that he is getting on a bit, but he is very, very fit and has years to go in his career."

"He is our captain, was instrumental in our good start to the season until injury and suspension disrupted that and has the kind of ability from free-kicks that is difficult to find."

No offence guys but for 2million I dont think it is worth it. I would rather that money go to Faddy. It would also be better for the SPL if he didn't leave DU.
R.K
Ive heard of worse players going for far bigger amounts. He is worth at least £2million to Dundee United, because that's how much it would probably cost to replace him!
