Defender Joins United From Slovenia
Dundee United manager Craig Levein has secured his 4th January signing, after defender Michael Kovacevic joined the club.
The 19-year-old Swiss defender has agreed a 3-year deal, after impressing Levein during a trial at Tannadice.
The former FC Koper player could be called into action against Kilmarnock next weekend, after influential central defender Lee Wilkie limped out of the recent 3-0 win over Aberdeen with a hamstring injury.
"Although a centre back is not a top priority for us at present, I felt that Michael was too good an opportunity to miss," Levein admitted to the BBC.
"He's only 19 and is therefore seen as one to develop for the future, but if he continues to impress, he may well feature in the first team this season."
"I'm delighted that he has agreed to join us on a permanent basis."
