Dundee United begin their defence of the Scottish Cup against the team they had to beat in the final to win it last season. First Division Ross County provide the opposition at Tannadice, where the hosts will be hoping for a similar outcome to their glorious Hampden triumph.
"Last year at this time we were favourites to go out the cup," Dundee United boss Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "I had just taken over as caretaker manager, we had lost 7-1 against Rangers and lost at home to Aberdeen. We had a few breaks against Partick Thistle and never looked back from that. If we get the same reaction and win against Ross County I will be more than happy."
The Terrors will be without top scorer David Goodwillie who is suspended, while midfielder Danny Swanson returns from a ban but is rated doubtful due to illness.
Should return in the absence of top scorer David Goodwillie.
Ross County have added to their ranks by recruiting Celtic youngster Jason Marr on loan. But they will be without Darren McCormack, who is sidelined for the rest of the season, and Darren Smith.
Talented performer up against his hometown club.
The Tayside club come into the game on the back of four successive draws and a host of cancelled games. They haven't actually won since a narrow victory at Hamilton in early November.
