Aberdeen 1 Dundee United 1

Top scorer David Goodwillie did it again for Dundee United with a last-gasp equaliser to end Craig Brown's perfect start as Aberdeen manager.

Goodwillie, who scored twice at Hibernian earlier in the week, pounced on substitute Jon Daly's knock-down deep into added time to level after Dons' Chris Maguire had taken advantage of Keith Watson's lose backpass nine minutes before the break.

The visitors were first to threaten with Goodwillie forcing an excellent save from Jamie Langfield with a volley on the turn.

Home striker Scott Vernon headed a Paul Hartley cross onto the top of the net in reply, but it was their opponents still looking the more likely as Goodwillie ended a fine move by drilling into the stanchion and then crossed for Prince Buaben to head straight at the keeper.

However, Aberdeen took the lead with the aid of a mistake from Watson that allowed Maguire to comfortably round keeper Dusan Pernis on 36 minutes.

Goalscorer Maguire had claims for a penalty waved aside after falling under Paul Dixon's challenge following the interval before setting up Vernon to shoot wide.

Former Blackpool striker Vernon then hoisted a Ryan Jack cross over before his colleague Yoann Folly was replaced after sustaining a broken ankle from another Dixon challenge.

Even so the home side still appeared set for victory until Goodwillie struck in acrobatic fashion as Daly headed down Dixon's cross to rescue an unlikely late point in the closing seconds.
