St Mirren 1 Dundee United 1

Dundee United were rescued by a late equaliser for the second successive game after substitute David Robertson was on target at St Mirren. Robertson headed in a David Goodwillie cross with only two minutes remaining to cancel out a first-half effort from Darren McGregor.

The visitors were first to show with Goodwillie being crowded out in the box before Johnny Russell returned Craig Conway's cross into the danger area, but there was nobody there to take advantage.

Saints' Marc McAusland was off-target in reply after Paul McGowan had linked with Michael Higdon before former Terrors keeper Paul Gallacher blocked with his legs from Russell after a sharp turn inside the area.

Morgaro Gomis and Prince Buaben were also wide of the mark for the visitors while McGowan couldn't find sufficient power to trouble Dusan Pernis at the opposite end.

But it was still the hosts taking the lead seven minutes before the break as Jure Travner's inswinging corner was headed on by McGregor and over the line despite the best efforts of Gomis to clear.

However, that advantage soon looked in danger of being cancelled out when Goodwillie headed Conway's free-kick onto the top of the crossbar.

And the visitors' leading scorer was again denied early in the second-half after Gallacher parried his header from Barry Douglas' cross. The recalled Garry Kenneth then blocked from McAusland, who soon delivered for Higdon's header to be cleared by Sean Dillon.

The scores should have been levelled as Goodwillie crashed a close-range effort against the crossbar from Russell's cross after a swift break from the visitors.

Their substitute Danny Cadamarteri was then wide of the target before Robertson looped a header past Gallacher from Goodwillie's cross to equalise with just a couple of minutes remaining.
