Dundee United won their first home game of the season after skipper Jon Daly came off the bench to settle a 3-1 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Tannadice.
On loan striker Lauri Dalla Valle fired the hosts in front on thirteen minutes but their opponents were soon level courtesy of Nick Ross.
Midfielder Danny Swanson then reclaimed the lead just before the break and substitute Daly finally sealed it on 71 minutes with his first touch of the game.
Gregory Tade was actually threatening early on for the visitors with a drive turned aside by Dusan Pernis before Andrew Shinnie headed wide from the corner.
However, Dalla Valle made room for himself and drilled across goalkeeper Ryan Esson to open the scoring.
But Caley weren't trailing for long as Ross eventually forced in Tade's cross to equalise just three minutes later.
Goalscorer Dalla Valle and Swanson then both went close for the Tangerines until the latter claimed possession and chipped over the keeper to make it 2-1 at the interval.
Thistle keeper Esson was called upon to keep out Swanson and Gavin Gunning upon the restart and opposite number Pernis blocked with his feet from Tade.
The contest was though in the end decided with Daly marking his return from injury by heading in Paul Dixon's cross with nineteen minutes remaining.
