Late winner stuns United

Dundee United suffered a first defeat in five games after Aberdeen came from behind at Tannadice.

Skipper Jon Daly took advantage of a weak punch from goalkeeper Jason Brown on six minutes but substitute Mohamed Chalali headed an equaliser midway through the second-half.

Dons' Kari Arnason then crashed home a glorious winner from distance with just four minutes remaining to eventually secure the points.

The Tangerines threatened early on with a Johnny Russell header deflecting wide, and it wasn't long before Brown struggled at a cross and John Rankin's shot fell kindly for Daly to open their account.

After home keeper Dusan Pernis gathered a low drive from Rory Fallon, his opposite number Brown managed to clear when Andrew Considine's wayward back-pass threatened to leave him stranded.

The Aberdeen defender was equally fortunate after appearing to clearly bring down Russell inside the area before the break.

Following it Paul Dixon saw a free-kick deflected wide and the visitors soon responded with a couple of substitutions, which immediately found reward as Arnason's long throw was helped on by Rory McArdle for Chalali to head past Pernis.

The hosts themselves introduced latest signing Richie Ryan for a debut from the bench, but it was Arnason finally taking the honours with a great strike from 30-yards just before the end.
