Late goal foils United

Dundee United were only denied victory in injury-time as Dynamo Moscow twice fought back to earn themselves a draw in their Europa League third qualifying round first-leg tie at Tannadice.

The Tangerines went into the lead through Willo Flood eight minutes before the break but Igor Semshov nodded an equaliser shortly after the restart.

But when Keith Watson scrambled a second for the hosts with just fourteen minutes remaining it looked good for them, until Aleksandr Kokorin looped an equaliser over Radoslaw Cierzniak in added time.

Dynamo showed well early on and skipper Kevin Kuranyi headed a Zvjezdan Misimovic cross wide before they fell behind against the run of play. John Rankin supplied the delivery and fellow midfielder Flood turned in with the aid of an upright.

Home striker Jon Daly then headed behind an inviting Flood cross before the unmarked Semshov was allowed time to head in Kokorin cross five minutes into the second period.

Polish debutant Cierzniak twice kept out German international striker Kuranyi as the visitors pressed, while Rankin and Gary Mackay-Steven threatened at the opposite end until Watson forced in after Daly's 76th minute header was blocked on the line.

But the hosts were undone again as Kokorin's effort from the edge of the area took a cruel deflection past Cierzniak to leave the Russians with two away goals and probably considering themselves as favourites.
