Terrors suffer a low in Highlands

Skipper Richie Foran scored twice in four first-half minutes as Dundee United crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Andrew Shinnie and on loan Arsenal youngster Philip Roberts were also on target as the home side marked their first league win of the season.

Their defeat saw the struggling visitors drop to eleventh and with only local rivals Dundee below them in the table.

The Tangerines actually threatened early through skipper Jon Daly whose first effort cleared the target and next only found goalkeeper Antonio Reguero.

However, Caley went ahead just past the half-hour when Foran superbly finished into the top corner after good work from Roberts and Shinnie.

Moments later teenager Roberts set up Foran to head in a second and the hosts reached the interval well in charge.

Two-goal Foran unselfishly squared for Aaron Doran to hoist over upon the restart and Daly saw a header turned over by Reguero at the opposite end.

Caley increased their advantage with twenty minutes remaining when Shinnie forced the ball in after help from Foran.

Two minutes later Roberts completed an excellent debut as he fired in number four from around eighteen-yards.
