Substitute finds late winner
Sat 23rd Aug 3.00pm
Substitute Chris Erskine struck a late winner against Ross County to keep Dundee United just behind the leaders in the Scottish Premiership.
Nadir Ciftci earlier headed them in front from a Paul Paton free-kick but Jake Jarvis replied for the visitors following the break.
Their opponents had gone close early on when Ciftci's effort was blocked and John Rankin's follow-up turned against the bar by goalkeeper Antonio Reguero.
Yoann Arquin then fouled Ciftci on nineteen minutes and Paton delivered for the the Turkish forward to head his side into the lead. Moments later Ciftci called Reguero into action from distance.
But bottom-of-the-table County replied six minutes after the interval when good work between Joe Cardle and Graham Carey set up Jervis at the far post.
Mario Bilate went close to reclaiming the lead, while both Arquin and Jervis missed chances at the other end before Erskine caught Reguero off his line after initially forcing away Gary Mackay-Steven's late corner.
