Dundee United 3 Greenock Morton 0
Fri 12th May 7.45pm
Dundee United defeated Greenock Morton 3-0 for an aggregate 5-1 victory in their Scottish Premiership play-off quarter-final.
The Tangerines next face Championship runners-up Falkirk in the semi-final following second-half goals from Simon Murray, Wato Kuate and Blair Spittal.
Kudus Oyenuga was wide for the visitors after Willo Flood's misplaced pass, while goalkeeper Jamie McGowan, who replaced the unavailable Derek Gaston, reacted well to deny Tony Andreu's replying header.
But Murray, who'd already twice narrowly missed, then struck at close-range after Thomas O'Ware's weak clearance from Stewart Murdoch's early second-half delivery.
Morton could have immediately responded with Oyenuga heading over Aiden Nesbitt's cross, before recent arrival Kuate superbly drilled into the top corner from twenty-five yards to double the advantage - his first goal for the club.
And the hosts added a third inside the final ten minutes with the in-form Spittal on target for the third consecutive game from Murray's cut-back.
