Dundee United crashed to their first league defeat of the season at St Mirren to slip down to fourth in the early Championship table.
Lewis Morgan scored twice for the hosts - with those goals arriving either side of the interval - and Ian McShane added a late third.
Both Sam Stanton and the returning Paul McMullan had early efforts saved by Craig Samson, whose opposite number Harry Lewis then kept out Gavin Reilly.
But Morgan soon advanced and drove in low for the opening goal while Gregor Buchanan also found an upright after Lewis dropped McShane's free-kick.
Reilly could have added a second before the break when Stewart Murdoch misjudged a back-pass and McShane also delivered a corner onto the top of the crossbar.
But the second goal still arrived early in the second-half with Morgan curling in from the edge of the area.
Defender Jamie Robson's reply was then marginally too high from distance before Stephen McGinn's 25-yard volley flew narrowly wide.
The Buddies still added another though, courtesy of McShane's fine strike from the edge of the area with twelve minutes remaining.
