Having approached the game in the normal negative way probably justified the end result for the Arabs. I always shake my head at teams like this. If they think they are going to get thumped at least go down fighting and have a go!! United are one of the best and mist disciplined teams in the league. They should play to win more rather than not to lose as many.

WeeTim67.... which game were you watching? Willo Flood could have scored in injury time, in one of the several good chances United created throughout the 90minutes. Dundee United gave as good as they got.... only injuries towards the end of the match gave Celtic the chance to start taking control. It was only when Samaras came on that Celtic looking like they were in control of the match.

Boss pleased to get through

Manager Ray McKinnon was pleased to get through against Queen of the South but not particularly happy with the second-half performance.

Queen of the South 2 Dundee United 3

Dundee United took command of their Challenge Cup semi-final with three first-half goals before hosts Queen of the South staged a late rally.

Charlie Telfer and Scott Fraser both netted inside eleven minutes for the visitors and on loan forward Tony Andreu then added a delightful third.

Stephen Dobbie managed a reply early in the second period and Derek Lyle grabbed another during injury-time - but it's United meeting either St Mirren or The New Saints in the final.
