Having more attempts and losing is far worse than having less and winning. Obviously. Couldn't even take advantage of journeyman Banks being in goal. Terrible. Oh well. At least we're starting to look up the table than below us! :D

Levein isnt - "I am not interested in talking about league positions and achieving this or achieving that, I am not in the least bit interested, because it can be counter productive — I've always said that."

Boss pleased to get through

Manager Ray McKinnon was pleased to get through against Queen of the South but not particularly happy with the second-half performance.

Queen of the South 2 Dundee United 3

Dundee United took command of their Challenge Cup semi-final with three first-half goals before hosts Queen of the South staged a late rally.

Charlie Telfer and Scott Fraser both netted inside eleven minutes for the visitors and on loan forward Tony Andreu then added a delightful third.

Stephen Dobbie managed a reply early in the second period and Derek Lyle grabbed another during injury-time - but it's United meeting either St Mirren or The New Saints in the final.
